A classroom set of the Smithsonian’s About Kites posters, printed in color at reduced size on 11 x 17-inch bond paper (you provide cardboard or foam core backing for durability). The 16 posters, developed by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Services, describe kite basics and highlight historical events and cultural connections of kites around the world. Traditional Indian fighter kite

This large kite, designed by Tasmanian kite artist Rob Brasington, requires very simple sewing. The kit includes ripstop nylon, two tails, bridle lines, graphite spars, and instructions. The kite is 19.5 inches square and comes in various colors.

Created in Cambodia by the director of the Khmer Kite Museum, this children’s “pocket” kite kit is made of paper with bamboo frame, and is flown by children throughout Cambodia.  Decorate with markers, ink, watercolor, or collage. Appropriate for ages seven and older.
