Designed by Canadian kite artist Robert Trépanier from Quebec, this is a fun, easy-to-make kite that can be transformed into a bug, an insect, or a creature more fantastical. A large (23 inches) kite with sturdy spars, it is made of soft Tyvek®. Good for art classes, and/or for integrating with primary-level science units.
Also available in packages of ten kites.
Decoration: Tyvek® is a non porous plastic paper, and the best pigments to use on it are acrylics (mixed with water so they aren't too thick, but make sure your sail is completely dry before sparring) and marker pens.
Recommended Age: Appropriate for age ten and older.
Ideal wind conditions for this kite: Medium (a flag on a pole is steadily moving...but if the flag is flying straight out, it's too much wind!)
