Phantom Star 48" Tyvek® Rokkaku Kite Kit
Phantom Star 48" Tyvek® Rokkaku Kite Kit
$24.95
About this Kite Kit: The traditional Japanese rokkaku shaped kite in Tyvek®. One of the most delightfully stable and easy to fly kites - works well in almost all wind conditions! All the materials you need are included, except flying line which you can easily purchase by going to IntotheWind.com. No cutting or sewing is necessary, only assembly. Instructions included along with some useful knots and painting tips.  A wonderful show kite, as it is 48" long.

This kite is perfect for team construction, allowing two or more students to work on a kite and flying them in a traditional rokkaku battle, where teams will try to cross lines and pull each other's kite from the sky.

Recommended Age: Middle and High School students. Great for teaching culture, art, math and science.

Decoration: Tyvek® is a non porous plastic paper, so paints when applied, remain on the surface of the kite sail.  The use of mixed with water acrylics and permanent marker pens work well.  Collaging light weight tissue paper works but one must be aware of the weight of application of glue and surface paper.

Ideal wind conditions for this kite: Light ( a flag on a pole is gently moving, not fluttering) to Medium (a flag on a pole is steadily moving, fluttering in the wind).
